Every social or political group has a platform. A set of beliefs that the represents the general social and political goals of that group. Now whenever a person rebels against this platform in a significant way, there are major consequences. These platforms have become rules that must be followed. Life in American society had devolved into following these rules or becoming pariahs in your own social group. It feels biblical. There is no greater sin than a believing something that you should not based on who you are.
